How to connect to your FTP account using file manager

Last Updated: Aug 23, 2014 02:02PM EDT
If you have hosting account with us you can upload files to it using any file manager of your choice, for example, FileZilla.

Before you try to set a connection with server please make sure that your domain is pointed to our hosting nameservers: hns1.domainname.com, hns2.domainname.com. If your domain is still on our default nameservers you will need to change them following this procedure.

Once your domain is pointed correctly please run file manager.
Now in order to connect to your hosting account please indicate host name, your login details and port number.

For illustration let us establish a connection with our server via FileZilla file manager:

- indicate host2.domainname.com in the Host field;
- enter username and password to your hosting account (if you do not remember your hosting login details you can find them if you go to your DomainName account, choose Hosting menu >> My Hosting Accounts, click on View Details button and then move to Change Password tab);
- indicate port 21 (please note that if you leave this field empty port 21 will be used by default):

- click Quickconnect button.

After you are connected to server you can start uploading files to your hosting account.
