DOMAIN VERIFICATION

Using Wizard
 

After you signed up for Google Apps you will be required to pass your domain verification.
Please note that if you have already verified your domain you do not need to do this again. You can just skip this part and set up MX records for your domain.

In order to verify your domain you will need to:
 

  • Step 1 - sign in to your Google Apps account at www.google.com/a/your_domain (please put your domain name instead of "your_domain");
  • Step 2 - start Google Apps setup:

Start Google Apps setup.
 
  • Step 3 - click Verify Domain:

Verify your domain to activate Google Apps.
 
  • Step 4 - click Begin verification:

Click Begin verification.

 
  • Step 5 - select Other from the list of domain registrars:

Select Other from the drop-down list.
 
  • Step 6 - copy verification string which begins with "google-site-verification:" (please do not close this window):

Copy the received string to use it for your domain verification.
 
  • Step 7 - log in to your DomainName account;
 
  • Step 8 - choose Domains > My domains in menu line;
 
  • Step 9 - click DNS button on new-opened page:


   
  • Step 10 - create new DNS record on DNS Management page - please put @ in Host Name field; choose SPF (TXT) record as Record Type; paste verification string to the Address field:

Create TXT record for your domain with the verification string you received previously.
 

  • Step 11 - click Save changes;
 
  • Step 12 - click Verify button on Google Apps verification page:

After you created TXT verification record on our side click Verify to complete this process.


Congratulations! Now your domain is successfully verified.

From gear menu


If for some reason you postponed your domain verification you can return to this procedure later in your Google Apps account following these directions:
 
  • sign in to your Google Apps account at www.google.com/a/your_domain (please put your domain name instead of "your_domain");
 
  • click gear menu and choose Setup:

Click gear menu and choose Setup.
 
  • choose Verify domain ownership at the left side menu and then click Next button:

Choose Verify domain ownership.
 
  • then follow the described above procedure starting from Step 4.

Mail setup

 

If you want to create Google mail with your domain name you will also need to set the following MX records:
 

1    ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
5    ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
5    ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
10    ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.
10    ASPMX3.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.


In order to do this please: 

 

  • log in to your DomainName account;
 
  • choose Domains > My domains in menu line;
 
  • click DNS button on new-opened page:


   
  • create new DNS record on DNS Management page - please put @ in Host Name field; choose MX (Mail) record as Record Type; paste ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. to the Address field; put 1 to the Priority field. After you click Save Changes a new empty line will be added on your DNS Management page. As the result you will have five MX records:
 

Create the following MX records to use Google mail with your domain.

 

Please note that to be able to manage DNS records on our side your domain should be pointed to our default nameserveres: ns1.domainname.com, ns2.domainname.com, ns3.domainname.com.

CNAME for Google Services

You may also need to create CNAME record on your DNS provider side in order to use different Google services with your domain.

If your domain is pointed to our default nameservers you can do this in the following way:

 
  • log in to your DomainName account;
 
  • choose Domains > My domains in menu line;
 
  • click DNS button on new-opened page:


   
  • create new DNS record on DNS Management page - please put www in Host Name field; choose CNAME (Alias) record as Record Type; paste ghs.googlehosted.com. to the Address field. Then click Save Changes:
